SR BEATRICE SHISALI ATAKUISTE

Director

Sr. Beatrice Shisali Ataku is a caregiver at Cardinal Otunga Foster Care home for the elderly. She is happy and enthused to serve the people of God in Bend with love. On most occasions, Sr. Beatrice shares her faith with the elderly that she serves encouraging them to persevere in their pain. She is focused on assisting them to grow deep in their faith by providing them with inspirational activities.
Sr. Beatrice is the fourth from the family of thirteen children. She is grateful to her parents who nurtured and instilled in her the values and morals of our Catholic faith. Having had a firm Catholic background, she was inspired by her elder sisters to join Religious life. Thus as such she joined the Institute of the Sisters of Mary of Kakamega in 1992 and finally professed in 2003. Sr. Beatrice has served in different apostolates as she is specialized in working with both the young and elderly. She has worked with formees in formation for Religious life and taught the youth in both elementary and high school.
Sr. Beatrice has a diploma in Spirituality and Religious formation from Tangaza University College and a degree in Leadership and Management from DePaul University. She feels confident to serve as she has varied skills and talents to minister to the people of God in Bend.

"I entered the SMK convent in 1992,took my first vows in 1995, Perpetual vows in 2003.As a Sister I trained in Kenya and got a diploma in Nursing after which I served as a nurse in various mission health units in Kenya,Uganda and South Sudan.It's a great and wonderful opportunity to serve and journey with the elderly seniors at Cardinal Otunga House.It is my prayer that in ministering to them,we continue witnessing and fulfilling our Motto,"To Love and to Serve" and share in the redemptive ministry of Christ the great Teacher and Healer".

SR. PENINA NJERI MAINA

Assistant Resident Manager

Sr. Penina happens to be a fourth born in the family of 11, she joined the Sisters of Mary Of Kakamega in 1992, made her first profession in August 1996, perpetual profession in 2005 and her silver Jubilee (25yrs) in religious life in 2021.
Sr. Penina has served in various institutions and capacities as an administrator and manager in Nakica Pastoral and St. Patrick’s Pastoral centres respectively, administrator/financial administrator in various schools and finally as an assistant financial administrator of the congregation.
Sr. Penina has a back ground on hospitality and management. Having this back ground, I still find the pleasure to serve the senior citizen with their challenges, I count many blessings while carrying out my duties and service at Cardinal Otunga House for the seniors.
At Cardinal Otunga House, we offer all-round services to the seniors accompanied with emotional support. Come experience our services and touch.

Sister Florence Omuhenje Machengo

Caregiver

Sister Florence is an African - Kenyan nun aged 59 years from a God fearing family of 12 and a senior Sister of Mary of Kakamega.I am a caregiver / accountant at Cardinal Otunga Foster Home .I love my work and l meet Christ in my taking care of these seniors  and doing almost everything for them and with them.
This work is part of my life and l also studied for it , l enjoy doing it.  I did courses of Counselling and Guiding and accounts in Africa and l used to do almost the same work there. Thank you for supporting us. God  bless you and your families , love you all.

Our Caring Nuns caregivers have passed extensive background checks and first aid/CPR certification. Our caregivers also speak perfect English. YouĂ­ll fall in love with their beautiful accents!
