Sister Sabina Mbenge

Director

Sister Sabina entered the convent in 1973 and has served in many diverse roles since then. She has specialized in working with the severely disabled as well as the extremely young and the very old. Sabina was the principal of a School for the Deaf & Blind for 15 years. She also led the entire congregation of Sisters of Mary of Kakamega from 2003-≠2005. She has a Masterís Degree in Special Needs from Leeds University in Great Britain.

Sister Anne Kakayi

Resident Manager

Sister Anne entered the convent in 1993, took first vows in 1996, and final vows in 2005. She has a diploma in General Nursing from St. Francis College, Kampala, Uganda. Sister Anne first began her work with physically disabled children at a rehabilitation center. Later, she worked at Butula Medical Center in Bungoma, Kenya. In 2012, she took on the nursing duties for the most elderly sisters at Christ the Healer infirmary in Mukumu, Kenya.

Cardinal Otunga Foster Home for Adults is a wonderful home in Bend, Oregon, USA. The Sisters of Mary of Kakamega give holistic care to the residents who always feel at home, loved and accepted. Sister Edel Quinn Othim

The grace of the Lord and His Love brought me to the Oregon, USA to continue witnessing  God's love, care and mercy to our Residents in Cardinal Otunga House. I'm Sr. Edel Quinn Othim and I was born in Kenya, from a family of 13 comprising of 10 girls and 3 boys.

Since 2016 I have served the elderly and sick in our Adult Foster Care Home in Bend, Oregon. It's a great opportunity to serve God in his people, sharing in their joys and pains. I have learned to live up to our motto, "To love and to serve". Equipped with CNA skills, along with confidence and love, I live each day  to serve our residents.

Sincere gratitude to the Catholic Diocese of Baker for their love and support, both spiritually and materially, that has enabled Sister of Mary to extend their apostolate to Cardinal Otunga House.

It is my wish that the senior citizens of Cardinal Otunga House will find love and care from the Sisters of Mary.
