Rooms & Rates
We have five private rooms at Caring Nuns Adult Foster Care Home in Bend and residents share the three bathrooms in the house.
Furnished rooms are available upon request. Our residents are always welcome to bring their own furnishings, photos, special pillows, mementos, etc. We want you to feel comfortable in your new home.
Pricing for each room is based on square footage and rates. One monthly flat fee covers all Adult Foster Care services and amenities at Caring Nuns. There are never any hidden charges.
At this time, we only accept private pay for our resident rooms. Please see our FAQs page for more information.
From extra soft blankets to white glove spotlessness to delicious milkshakes and smoothies, we are all about the details here at Otunga House.
Medication
We monitor and chart all medicine intake with strict adherence to physicianís orders. Weíve contracted with a local Bend pharmacy to deliver all medications directly to our Adult Foster Care Home, saving you from making trips all over town.
Meals
We serve the best possible food, lovingly prepared by the Otunga House staff of nuns. Our goal is to provide nourishing, home-cooked meals to our residents and our meal plans exceed the ìMy Plateî national standards for geriatric care.
Housekeeping
We provide daily cleaning of each room and keep the entire house spotlessly clean. Laundry service is included in the monthly rate.
Daily Activities
Individualized activities are planned each week based on resident interests, likes and requests. Daily exercise is encouraged.
Day-to-day Living
Our staff can assist with bathing, dressing and any other daily routine tasks needed by residents. We also offer assistance with walkers and wheelchairs, practicing steps and helping residents get in and out of the house if needed. ADA approved wheelchair ramps are located in both the front and rear of the home. We also offer wheelchair accessible tiled showers with grab bars.
Grounds
Otunga House is a serene environment surrounded by ponds, brooks and waterfalls. We have raised planter beds for residents to grow vegetables and flowers of their choosing. We also have a large outdoor deck perfect for soaking up Bendís famous 300 days of sunshine or for reading under a shade umbrella.
Outsourced Services
We have partnered with Dial-A-Ride to transport our residents to appointments and other outings. We have also contracted with hairdressers, manicurists, foot care specialists and massage therapists to offer home visits for their services.
Other Amenities
Each room at our Adult Foster Care Home comes with premium Bend Broadband cable. We also offer commercial strength WiFi internet access for resident use.
Our Adult Foster Care Home is located in the heart of Bend near St. Charles Medical Center and adjacent medical clinics. We are also close to shopping and restaurants.
We have partnered with hospice care (Partners in Care) should the need arise for this service.
